Drilling Biocide

Aquacide

Description

Aquacide is an aqueous solution of Glutaraldehyde. It is a stable biocide and is active against slime-forming and sulfate reducing bacteria, as well as algae, yeasts and fungal growth in oilfield waters from fresh to moderately saline. It helps control aerobic and anaerobic bacteria during secondary oil recovery and wastewater injection as well as packer fluids used for well completion. It is highly surface active reducing the injection pressures.

Aqualube-EP readily disperses in water and water base mud without producing oil slick. Moreover, it bears no harmful effect for human skin. It is non-fluorescent amber liquid and has no greasing-out or foaming tendencies.

Recommended Treatment

Aquacide is used in concentration of 0.25-1.5 liters per cubic meter.
