Corrosion Inhibitor

Aquamine

Description

Aquamine is an aqueous solution of Amine derivatives containing sulfide scavenger which acts as a corrosion inhibitor for work-over & packer brines and viscosified completion fluids.

Aquamine is a multipurpose corrosion inhibitor for weighted and solid-free packer fluids. It is an effective corrosion inhibitor against corrosion due to O2, CO2 and H2S.
It is absorbed on metal surfaces due to its strong cationic nature irrespective in wide pH range and presence of strong electrolytes, by making a film, to protect from corrosion attack. Aquamine is recommended in clear or weighted packer fluids and its efficiency is not reduced by absorbing on solids. Aquamine may cause thinning in some non-dispersed packer fluids, therefore pilot testing is recommended.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Appearance Yellow Liquid
Sp. Gravity 1.01 -1.02 Approx.
Type Amine Derivative
Solubility Soluble in water & brine
Stability > 200°C
Constituents N-Alkyl diamines, Fatty diamides & Sultains
% Composition 30% w/w solids
Flash Point >95°C
Pour Point -5°C

Recommended Treatment

Aquamine is used in concentration of 6-18 l/m3 and 6 l/m3 concentration is recommended for highly treated lignosulphonate mud where producing zone is free of abnormal concentration of H2S & CO2. When producing zone contains large contents of H2S, CO2 and sulfate reducing bacterial problems are prevalent, a dosage of 6-18 l/m3 is recommended.

MATERIAL SAFETY DATA

Hazard Identification

  • Non-hazardous to living organism and environment.
  • Does not irritate human skin.
  • Non-toxic
  • Non flammable
  • Not for human use

Handling

Aquamine does not have a restricted classification for transportation by regulatory agencies. It is a non-combustible product.
Spilled material may cause slipping. It can be washed with a stream of water or can be absorbed with absorbing agent like saw dust or sand.

First Aid

On Skin contact: Wash with plenty of water and soap.
On contact with eyes: immediately wash affected eyes under running water and consult an eye specialist.

Storage

Aquamine should be stored in a clean and dry environment.
