Aquadet is a drilling detergent designed for water base drilling fluids. It works both in fresh and brine water without altering the rheology of mud adversely. It is a viscous liquid compounded of surfactants, detergents and emulsifiers. It is non-corrosive and non-damaging to drilling equipment.
Aquadet reduces the surface tension by increasing the wet ability and emulsion power of drilling fluids. It effectively cleans the bottom hole by reducing bit balling and floundering, consequently higher rates of penetration are achieved. Since Aquadet lubricates the drilling fluid, it reduces the torque encountered by drill string to some extent.
