LIGNOMUL, oxidized lignite is a naturally occurring material used to reduce fluid loss and deflocculate water-base muds. LIGNOMUL is a partially soluble additive which provides thin, low-permeability filter cakes. It is an excellent emulsifier for oil-in-water emulsions as well as a secondary deflocculant and is especially effective in high-temperature applications. It performs exceptionally well in dispersed systems as a synergistic additive with lignosulfonates.
It can be used in virtually any water-base fluid.

Normal treatments of LIGNOMUL range from 1-8 lb/bbl (2.85 to22.8 kg/m2. Lignomul requires additional caustic soda to increase pH. Lignomul is most effective in mud systems with an alkalinity range of 9-11.

Hazard Identification
LIGNOMUL does not have a restricted classification for transportation by regulatory agencies.
LIGNOMUL should be stored in a clean and dry environment away from sources of heat and ignition.
On Skin contact: Wash with plenty of water and soap. On contact with eyes: immediately wash affected eyes under running water and consult an eye specialist.
